Why These Picks?
VAN Canucks v VGS Golden Knights: The Canucks have lost 5 of their last 6 games, and I have a feeling this road trip will continue not boding well for them. Las Vegas has won their last 4 straight meetings with Vancouver, and 3 of those wins were by at least two goals. The Canucks offense is struggling to put goals on the board (they haven’t scored more than 2 in any of their last 5 outings…) and while the Golden Knights have dropped their last 5 straight, this is a great opportunity for a good team to bounce back at home. I’ll take Las Vegas to cover the PL.
SJ Sharks v COL Avalanche: 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two teams have seen at least 6 goals, and with the Sharks playing much better hockey now than they have been in recent past, I think the Over cashes easily here. San Jose has hit the Over in 3 of their last 4 games, and while Colorado has been in a bit of a slump, I think they’ll get at least 3 past Askarov this evening. My money’s on the Over to hit.
CLE Cavaliers v LA Clippers: While both squads have been playing great basketball as of late, the Clippers have been allowing far too many points for my liking over their last few games. LA has allowed at least 122 points in 2 of their last 3 outings, and I think this stat will bode extremely well for a team like the Cavaliers who have been on an offensive tear. For this reason alone I think the projected total is too low. I’ll take the Over to cash and the visitors to cover.
