MIA Dolphins v PIT Steelers: The Dolphins are notoriously terrible in cold weather. If this game were happening in Miami I’d have a much different take, but it’s 14°F (-10.0°C) in Pittsburgh today and I don’t doubt that the Steelers will play the better game because of it. I came across a hilarious (and slightly tragic) stat this morning: QB Tua Tagovailoa is 0–7 in games played below 40°F –  tonight we’ll be well under that threshold. I know the Dolphins have been able to string together some nice wins, this spot favors the Steelers in every way that matters, friends. My money’s on Pittsburgh to cover.

TOR Raptors v MIA Heat: The Raptors have been brutally lacklustre having lost 6 of their last 7 games, and 5 of those 6 losses have been by at least 7 points. Of course, Miami hasn’t been so hot over the last couple of weeks either having lost 5 of their last 6, but they tend to be a lot tougher at home than they are on the road. Toronto is also still without RJ Barrett – I know the Raptors will have a bounce back moment, but I don’t think this is it. I’m on the Heat to cover here.

HOU Rockets v DEN Nuggets: 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two teams have stayed under 237 points. As much as I like both of these squads offensively, Houston’s defense is formidable, and the Nuggets are still without Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun. To be frank, I think it would be tough for this encounter to see anything close to 240 – I’m on the Under to hit.

OTT Senators v WIN Jets: I love the Jets to bag a win at home and with Hellebuyck in net. If you're not in the mood to sweat OT potential (I get it, Ottawa has yet to confirm their goaltender...), the regular ol' Moneyline is available at a reasonable -130. But, given that the Senators have lost 4 of their last 5 games against far lesser squads, I'm going after the juicy plus money. Yes, the Jets have lost 3 of their last 4, but Eric Comrie was in goal for all of those losses. Give me Winnipeg and Hellebuyck to bag a win in regulation.

In addition, while their defense is elite, they’ve put at least 131 points on the board in their last 3 straight games, and haven’t put less than 120 on the board in their last 6 straight. On the other side, the Spurs have put at least 130 in the bag in each of their last 2 matchups – and that was without Victor Wembanyama on the court. This game should fall North of 232.0 – I’m on the Over to cash, and on the Thunder to clear at least 122 points.

WAS Capitals v WIN Jets: At the end of the day, this pick all comes down to goaltending. Both teams are great offensively, but Washington’s Logan Thompson has been far better than Winnipeg’s Eric Comrie has in net. While I do think the Jets will put a few goals on the board here, ultimately I think the Capitals bag a win. I’m on the Over to cash, and on Washington to grab a victory.
