I won’t lie to you – it pains me to do this. Good Canadian kid Matt Wilkinson is getting called up to pitch for the SF Giants this afternoon, but I just can’t bet against the Guardians in this spot. Cleveland starter Parker Messick (2.59 ERA) is a beast and hasn’t allowed more than 2 runs in any of his last 5 outings. And, in the event that Wilkinson does pitch a great game, I just don’t think he’ll get the run support he needs from the Giants’ offense to bag the win. I’m on the home squad to cover the RL this evening.
