First Sips
Good morning/afternoon, friends! My first sip of coffee is coming far later than I’d like it to today – and it certainly doesn’t taste as good as days prior. Am I salty about that Minnesota Twins walk-off Grand Slam in the 9th inning yesterday? Absolutely. The Twins did sweet f*** all for the entire game, and then at the very end, decided to win it by one (4-3 final). Unbelievable outcome for Pick of the Day…but it did make me feel better about the pick overall 😂 If they’d done…well, literally anything for the other 8 innings we’d have cashed. Oh well, that’s the way it goes sometimes. But, let’s not dwell, it’s a new day! Here’s what I like for this afternoon…

Right now, the Phillies have Andrew Painter (7.06 ERA) listed to start this game in some places…and “TBD” listed in others. That said, if Philadelphia goes ahead with Painter on the road, I’m undoubtedly on the Orioles to bag a win. Baltimore starter Brandon Young (3.13 ERA) has had an impressive season at 8-2, while Painter is currently 0-3 on the road. To boot, 4 of Young’s last 5 starts have resulted in a win for the Orioles. My money’s on Baltimore to snag a victory this evening.
