Why These Picks?
TEX Rangers v MIL Brewers: We’re running it back, friends! The Brewers have been paying – and with Logan Henderson (2.60 ERA) on the mound this evening, I imagine they’ll continue to. Henderson is an impressive 4-0 at home and 8-2 on the season. In addition, the man hasn’t allowed more than 2 runs in any of his last 5 games. On the other side, while Texas starter Cody Bradford (3.05 ERA) isn’t terrible, the man is carrying a 4.09 ERA on the road and has allowed 15 hits over his last 2 outings… I have a feeling Milwaukee’s superior offense will blow that right open. I’m on the home squad to cover the RL.
COL Rockies v ATL Braves: Tomoyuki Sugano has been rough lately. Having allowed 11 runs over just his last two starts, I can’t imagine the Braves offense not covering the RL in this spot. Atlanta starter Grant Holmes (3.64 ERA) has been hittable for the first half of this season, but he’s gotten infinitely better over his last 5 outings. I’ll take the Braves to win by at least 2.
CHI White Sox v MIN Twins: This is a high-scoring affair in my mind. Luis Castillo (5.19 ERA) has been a far-cry from reliable, and the Over has cashed in 4 of Dean Kremer’s last 5 starts. This one doesn’t need a whole lot of explanation; take the Over for a nice plus-money return.
BAL Orioles v Athletics: Baltimore starter Brandon Young (3.50 ERA) is a formidable 7-1 on the road, friends. To boot, the Athletics’ offense has been brutal for most of the second half of this season. To be fair, while pitcher Jacob Lopez (4.98 ERA) is 0-3 at home, he hasn’t allowed more than 2 runs in any of his last 5 games. All this tells me is that the As bullpen craps themselves the moment he leaves the mound (lol…) I’ve gotta roll with the Orioles to win.
