Why These Picks?

NY Yankees v TB Rays: The Yankees are in a serious drought, friends. And while Griffin Jax (3.45 ERA) is a Relief Pitcher (and today’s starter…) the man has pitched at least 5 innings in each of his last 5 outings. Until New York can get their offense together, it makes no sense to bet against the Rays at home. Give me Tampa Bay to lock down a win.

TOR Blue Jays v SF Giants: Jays starter Kevin Gausman has been unreliable at best these days; I hate that I’m saying that. To boot, the SF Giants have cashed the Over in their last 6 straight games, and starter Landon Roupp’s last 5 straight starts have resulted in a loss for San Francisco. I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Over, but I’ll also (boldly) take Toronto to bag a win here.

COL Rockies v LA Dodgers: Eric Lauer’s stats are comical and impressive at this stage; the former Blue Jay has an ERA that sits at 4.84 and yet his last 5 straight starts have resulted in a Dodgers win. With Rockies starter Kyle Freeland (7.25 ERA) having an ERA of 8.31 away from home, the Over should have no issue cashing here. 4 of Freeland’s last 5 outings have seen at least 9 runs, 3 of those have gone beyond 12. The LA batting lineup should do most of the heavy lifting here, but I expect Colorado to put some runs on the board as Lauer is hittable. Take the Over to hit, and the Dodgers to cover the RL.
