Why These Picks?
ARI Diamondbacks v COL Rockies: This line surprises me. Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano (4.07 ERA) has allowed 9 runs over his last two starts and allowed a ridiculous 3 HRs on his last trip to the mound. On the other side, Eduardo Rodriguez’s last 5 straight starts have resulted in a win for Arizona, and every one of those victories was by at least 3 runs. The Diamondbacks should have no issue covering the RL here; I’m on Arizona to win by at least 2.
MIA Marlins v TB Rays: Every single one of Nick Martinez’s (1.70 ERA) last 5 starts has seen 7 runs or less. I like the Under here; and while Sandy Alcantara has been less efficient on the road than he has been at home, he’s still a solid starter behind Max Meyer & Eury Perez. To be frank, I just don't think Miami will get more than 1 past Martinez. My money’s on a low-scoring affair, and I’ll take the Rays to cover the RL.
BUF Sabres v MTL Canadiens: 4 of the 5 games in this series have seen at least 6 goals, friends. While the Sabres have their backs against the wall this evening, I still think this encounter will wind up being a higher-scoring one. I’m on the Over to cash.
