Why These Picks?
MIA Marlins v NY Mets: While the Mets managed to snap their losing streak, my bankroll is still happier fading them than not. Marlins starter Max Meyer (2.52 ERA) is a perfect 5-0 so far this season, he’s allowed a mere 6 runs over his last 5 starts, and 0 runs over his last two outings. On the other side, New York has lost 7 of their last 10 games and Freddy Peralta (3.52 ERA) has allowed 9 runs over his last 3 starts. I’m on Miami to pick up a win here.
LA Angels v TB Rays: I admit, the Angels haven’t been terrible lately – but Nick Martinez (1.51 ERA) is undoubtedly Tampa Bay’s resident Ace, and the Angels currently lead the league in strikeouts. I think this is a nice bounce back spot for the Rays after getting swept by Baltimore. To boot, Walbert Urena has been worse on the road than his overall ERA suggests. Give me Tampa to cover the RL.
SF Giants v COL Rockies: I simply can’t turn down the Over with today’s starters on the mound. If I didn’t think the Rockies were capable of getting more than a few past Logan Webb (5.06 ERA), I’d feel different…and Michael Lorenzen (7.21 ERA) has been atrocious. Take Over 10.5 to cash in spades here.
