Why These Picks
TB Rays v Athletics: Nick Martinez (2.92 ERA) has been solid on the mound for most of this season and is an impressive 7-3 at home, so I get why the total on this game is set where it is. That said, I think Tampa Bay could easily run up a score on the Athletics bullpen, I just don’t think the As will contribute enough to bring the game to 9 runs. I’ve got a sprinkle on the Rays to put at least 5 on the board today for a nice plus-money return.
PHI Phillies v WAS Nationals: Zack Wheeler should be able to keep Washington at bay long enough for the Phillies offense to take a solid lead. With Wheeler being 7-3 on the road, I can’t imagine the Philly batting lineup not covering the RL against the Nationals’ bullpen. I’ll take the visitors to cover.
SEA Mariners v LA Angels: Mariners starter George Kirby (4.25 ERA) has been abysmal on the road, and Angels arm Yusei Kikuchi (4.75 ERA) has been awful for as long as I can remember at this point (lol). How the book set this line at 7.5, I’ll never know. Take the Over to cash.
SD Padres v COL Rockies: The Padres offense is on fire right now, friends. San Diego has cashed the Over in their last 7 straight games, and today’s encounter at hitter-friendly Coors Field should be no exception. In addition, the Rockies will be rolling with their bullpen today – I’d be shocked if this game didn’t see a double-digit total. My money’s on a high-scoring affair this evening.
