Why These Picks?

KC Chiefs v MIA Dolphins: The Dolphins have lost by double digits in both of their outings so far this season. This pick is pretty straight forward in my opinion. Miami lost by 14 to the Raiders…arguably a far less formidable team (sorry, Raiders fans). If Las Vegas can cover the double-digit spread, I have to believe that the Chiefs are undoubtedly capable of winning this game by at least 20. I know Kansas City is on the road here, but to be frank, something would have to go catastrophically wrong for them not to win this matchup by 10 points.  Hell, I won’t be surprised if Kenneth Walker III puts 14 in the bag all by himself. I’m on the Chiefs to cover today.

LA Chargers v BUF Bills: This is a dopey line – sorry, but it is! Justin Hebert and the Chargers look confused as all hell on the field these days, and they’ve yet to win a game outright. Meanwhile, Buffalo looks like they plan on going the distance this season. Los Angeles is coming off of double-digit losses to the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders…either the book knows something I don’t and this is a mega trap, or the book thinks Justin Herbert and company is just “due”. In any case, I disagree – take the Bills to cover at home for plus money and the Over to cash.

BAL Ravens v DAL Cowboys: The Cowboys have yet to yield a low-scoring game this season, and they won’t start today. Dallas’ defense leaves plenty to be desired, and both offenses are more than capable of putting points on the board. My money’s on the Over to cash here.

LV Raiders v NO Saints: My boldest pick for today, no doubt – but the Saints have had Kirk Cousins’ number for eons. Granted, he was on the Falcons for those eons, but I’d argue he has a lot less support from the Las Vegas offense than he did with Bijan Robinson and Drake London at his disposal. The New Orleans defense has been cooking, as has their new QB. After an impressive win on the road against Baltimore, I’ve gotta toss a sprinkle on the home squad to cover in their home opener.
