Why These Picks?
TOR Blue Jays v BOS Red Sox: Until the Blue Jays can get their offense together (and their defense, quite frankly…) they’re on my fade list. I love Dylan Cease (2.67 ERA), but even his last start resulted in a 7-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Meanwhile, Red Sox starter Sonny Gray (2.48 ERA) is a perfect 5-0 at home this season, and Boston has won 7 of their last 8 games. I’ll take the Red Sox to put another victory in the bag this afternoon.
NY Yankees v PHI Phillies: Both of these squads should get a good number of runs on the board this evening. NY starter Ryan Weathers (4.40 ERA) has allowed a staggering 19 hits over just his last 3 outings, while Philly will roll out their bullpen for this encounter. I’m on the Over to cash.
CLE Guardians v TB Rays: I won’t be betting against Tampa Bay starter Nick Martinez (2.59 ERA) anytime soon. Martinez has been flawless for the majority of this season, and his last 5 straight outings have resulted in a Rays victory. Between him on the mound and Tampa’s offense firing on all cylinders these days, my money’s on the home squad to win.
