Why These Picks?
MIL Brewers v SD Padres: High-scoring affairs are tough to come by in the post-season, but if there’s one game that finds its way Over 7.5 today, it’ll be this one. 4 of Walker Buehler’s (4.63 ERA) last 5 starts have seen final totals over 10, and both of today’s offenses are wildly capable. At the time of writing, Milwaukee has yet to choose their starting pitcher…but to be frank, I’m not super concerned about it. San Diego hasn’t gotten fewer than 3 runs past Milwaukee’s best, and the Brewers should get more than enough past Buehler for this game to find its way to 8 runs. I’m on the Over to cash.
COL Avalanche v WPG Jets: The Avalanche have been putting mad points on the board in just their last two games, friends. Colorado has scored 14 goals in just 2 outings; granted, they were both home games, but I’m in no rush to back a low-scoring affair with their firepower being so efficient. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets haven’t scored fewer than 3 in any of their games so far this season. Take the Over to hit.
