Why These Picks?

ATL Hawks v NY Knicks: As long as the Knicks are at home for this series, I’ve gotta roll with them to win. New York is just too formidable at MSG; with a 30-10 record on their own court this season, I’m confident they’ll lock down a victory over the Hawks by at least 3 baskets (especially if Onyeka Okongwu winds up limited or doesn’t end up playing…). Take the Knicks to cover, friends. As for the total, I won’t be surprised if this one scores even lower than the last – I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Under as well.

PHI Phillies v CHI Cubs: The Phillies offense has been basically non-existent over their last 5 games. In addition, their last game facing starter Colin Rea saw them take a 10-4 loss. I’m not in any hurry to back Philadelphia until their bats heat up again; take the Cubs to lock down a win at home today.

ANA Ducks v EDM Oilers: Both of these squads have been on a rough run, but I like the Oilers to get serious here on home ice and lock down a regulation win. Edmonton has won 6 of their last 10 games, the Ducks have won a mere 2 of their last 10. I’ll put my faith in the Oilers this evening.
