Why These Picks?
DET Tigers v LA Angels: The Tigers offense has put a ridiculous 44 runs in the bag over just their last 4 games (wtf?). And, while Gage Jump (4.00 ERA) had a solid outing against Boston recently, I think Detroit is going to run all over him and the Athletics bullpen this afternoon. I know the As will be trying to avoid getting swept (and they may succeed…) but the Tigers fire power has been the definition of elite over the last week. My money’s on the visitors to put at least 6 in the bag here, and I’ll toss a sprinkle on the overall total to go Over.
MIL Brewers v LA Angels: A bold play, I know – but Jacob Misiorowski (1.57 ERA) has no issue keeping even the best offenses off the board. Comically, the Angels haven’t put more than 2 runs on the board in 3 of their last 4 games anyway against far lesser starters. My money’s on them to put fewer than 3 in the bag today.
KC Royals v COL Rockies: I don’t love Seth Lugo (4.22 ERA) on the road, but Kyle Freeland (7.34 ERA) has been absolutely abysmal at home. I know Bobby Witt Jr is on the IL, but the current Kansas City batting lineup should be able to sneak a win past Colorado today. I’m on the Royals to avoid the sweep.
