-CHI Cubs v STL Cardinals Over 8.5 (-120) | 0.5 Units
Why These Picks?
SD Padres v WAS Nationals: I’m all over a high-scoring affair with this one today, friends. Griffin Canning has allowed 12 runs over this 3 starts; I think the Nationals will be able to do a lot of the heavy lifting here. Washington starter Zack Littell (5.23 ERA) has been better than his ERA would suggest as of late, but I worry about the bullpen’s ability to keep the Padres off the board. I’ve got the Over to cash, and I’ll put a sprinkle on the home team to pull off the upset for a nice plus money return.
MIL Brewers v HOU Astros: I’ll back Jacob Misiorowski (1.83 ERA) in his current form all day everyday; the man has allowed a mere 1 run over his last 5 starts. And in those aforementioned 5 starts, the 4 victories the Brewers bagged with him on the mound were all by at least three runs. Take Milwaukee to cover the RL.
CHI Cubs v STL Cardinals: This could be the highest scoring affair of the day in my opinion. The Cubs are playing their bullpen this evening, and Cardinals starter Matthew Liberatore (4.76 ERA) has allowed 11 runs over his last 3 starts. It’s looking like Jordan Wicks will kick things off for Chicago, and he allowed a staggering 8 runs in his last outing over just 4 innings. I’m on the Over to cash here.
