Why These Picks?
SD Padres v SF Giants: I’ve gotta roll with San Diego here. Michael King (3.00 ERA) hasn’t allowed a single run in any of his last 3 starts, and 2 of his last 3 road games have resulted in a Padres win by at least 2 runs. I admit, the Giants put on a good show against St. Louis, but their offense has been abysmal for most of the season, and today they’re sending their bullpen to the mound. I’ll happily go after the plus-money RL here, and toss a sprinkle on the Padres to put at least 5 in the bag.
CIN Reds v MIL Brewers: The Milwaukee Brewers have yet to announce their starter, but to be frank, it matters little to me in this spot. The Brewers offense is absolutely cooking at the moment, and Cincinnati starter Brady Singer (5.67 ERA) has allowed 10 runs over just his last 2 starts. That said, the Reds will be eager to clap back after last night’s 20-run loss (true story, final score 20-0 Milwaukee). I’m on the Over to cash, friends.
