Why These Picks?
VAN Canucks v EDM Oilers: The Canucks were one of the worst teams in the league last season, and to be frank, nothing of note changed for Vancouver in the off-season to make me think things will be different this year. The Oilers went undefeated during the pre-season…they should have no issue bagging this victory by multiple goals at home; I won’t be surprised if they light things up early. My money’s on Edmonton to cover the PL tonight, and on the Over to cash.
CHI Cubs v SD Padres: This game sees 8 runs, friends. Padres starter Michael King (3.21 ERA) is better at home than he is on the road, for sure – but the Cubs offense is a tough one to keep at bay and King has been hit and miss all year. With King having allowed 5 runs in his last start, I can’t confidently say this game total stays low. To boot, the Over cashed in 5 of their 6 meetings during the regular season. I’m on the Over to hit for plus-money here.

Having bagged 138 points in 82 games last season, I'm surprised the return on Connor McDavid to put 2 in the bag is so good. To be frank, it may not be priced like this for the rest of the season if he leaps over this bar (and I highly suspect he will). Give me McDavid to snag 2 points tonight.
