Why These Picks?
NY Yankees v TEX Rangers: The ML is priced well today for one simple reason – and it’s that we really don’t know how well Elmer Rodriguez will fare in his MLB debut. That said, Nathan Eovoldi (5.79 ERA) has been pretty close to abysmal having allowed 14 hits in just his last 2 outings, and the Texas offense hasn’t scored more than 2 runs in 4 of their last 5 games. I know it’s always tough to pull off the sweep, but the reality here is that even if Rodriguez falls apart, New York’s offense is an absolute powerhouse lately and I can’t see Eovaldi fending them off for any amount of time. I’m on the Yankees to pull off the series sweep here.
BOS Red Sox v TOR Blue Jays: I’m on a high-scoring affair with this one. Brayan Bello (9.00 ERA) and Eric Lauer (6.75 ERA) have been extremely “hittable” to to speak, and as a result, I think today’s encounter turns into an absolute shootout. Take the Over to cash.
