Why These Picks?
CHI White Sox v CHI Cubs: This game screams high-scoring affair to me, friends. Chicago vs Chicago is always a bit of a shoot out to begin with; 6 of their last 8 meetings have cashed the Over with ease. As far as today’s starters go, Luis Castillo (4.96 ERA) has allowed 10 runs over his last 3 starts (0 in his most recent, but 5 in each of the others…), and while Shota Imanaga (3.74 ERA) is arguably the better arm in this matchup, the White Sox offense has given the Cubs a run for their money in their last couple encounters. I’ve gotta put my money a higher total today.
LA Dodgers v COL Rockies: Hear me out, friends – I know that Tomoyuki Sugano (4.43 ERA) is arguably one of Colorado’s best starters, but I think the Rockies are well out of their league here. The Dodgers offense hasn’t really been anything to write home about over the last week, but I think that notoriously hitter-friendly Coors Field will help them out plenty. I’m on LA to put an easy 7 in the bag tonight.
