Why These Picks?
DET Tigers v SF Giants: This offense and this pitcher might be my favourite dynamic duo in the entire major league at the moment. Why? The Tigers are definitely the bills these days, friends. Detroit starter Troy Melton (1.58 ERA) hasn’t allowed a single run across his last two starts, and has allowed a mere 3 runs across his last 5 trips to the mound, which, unsurprisingly, has resulted in nothing but wins for Detroit. In addition, the Tigers’ offense has put a very healthy 31 runs on the board in their last 5 games. The Giants may be at home this afternoon, but they’ve been rough since coming back from the All-Star break. My money’s on Detroit to bag a win here.
LA Dodgers v ARI Diamondbacks: While Eduardo Rodriguez (2.71 ERA) had a tough start against the Padres last week, more often than not, he’s been a reliable arm for the Diamondbacks. On the other side, Justin Wrobleski (3.31 ERA) has had a couple of rough outings, and 4 of his last starts have resulted in a loss for the Dodgers. To be honest, I think Arizona is undervalued here (as opponents often are against LA) – I’ll happily bet on the home team to win for a nice plus-money return.
