Why These Picks?
NY Mets v PHI Phillies: I just can’t back Aaron Nola (5.75 ERA), friends – the man is not a reliable starter, and somehow he’s even less capable at home in Philly. 4 of Nola’s last 5 starts have resulted in a loss; I’m in no rush to put my money on him. On the other side, 4 of Christian Scott’s (3.17 ERA) last 5 starts have brought about a victory for the Mets, and he’s even better on the road than his overall ERA suggests. Interestingly, Scott’s last encounter with Philadelphia resulted in a 6-2 win for New York. I’m on the Mets to pull off the upset here, and I’ll toss a sprinkle on their offense to put at least 5 runs in the bag.
