ARI Diamondbacks v COL Rockies: I’ve gotta tell you, I was so ready to take the Over on this game. Merrill Kelly (5.00 ERA) starting for Arizona and the Rockies playing their bullpen? It seems so easy. That said, the Rockies offense has been abysmal, and historically...these two squads just don’t crack 11 runs when they play each other! In their last 10 meetings, they’ve only managed to see a final total of over 11 runs one time. The reality? It doesn’t matter who’s on the mound or where they’re playing…nearly every game between these two seems to stop at 10. For this reason, I’ll toss a sprinkle on the Under to cash today.
CIN Reds v ATL Braves: I don’t mind Andrew Abbott pitching for the Reds in this spot, but the man has been inconsistent lately. Abbott has either been pitching lights out, or allows a powerhouse offense to get 7 runs past him. To be frank, the Braves are what I’d consider to be a powerhouse offense, and they happen to be starting their own Ace today (Chris Sale, 2.18 ERA). I’m taking Atlanta to cover the RL this afternoon at home.
