Why These Picks?
-PHI Phillies v ATL Braves (game in progess - went out as POTD earlier today): I’ve gotta go with this game to see at least 8. Not only did Tyler Mahle’s (3.99 ERA) last encounter with Philly see a final total of 9, but 4 of his last 5 outings have also cashed the Over in spades. On the other side, Cristopher Sanchez (2.91 ERA) has been a bit of a wild card this season – the man is either pitching lights out, or allowing 11 runs over 2 games. My point? He’s not the reliable arm he used to be. I’m on the Over to cash tonight.
-NY Islanders v TOR Maple Leafs: I hate to say it, but I think the Leafs are taking loss number two tonight. The Islanders come into this encounter more than rested while Toronto is playing on a back-to-back. Once New York shakes off the rust and the nerves associated with their first game of the season, I think they bag a win. I’m on the visitors for plus money.

Nylander is fresh off a game where he put 2 goals and 5 SOG in the bag…I can’t imagine the man isn’t feeling himself coming into this game (lol). In addition, Toronto taking a loss in their season opener at home can’t be sitting well; I have to imagine the Leafs come out hot despite playing on a back-to-back. My money’s on Nylander to take at least 3 Shots on Goal.
