Why These Picks?

GS Warriors v LA Clippers: I haven’t loved the Warriors on the road for most of this season, but they played the Clippers just a few days ago in LA and managed to keep the final total within 5 points. In addition, despite him being on minutes restriction this evening, I have a really hard time justifying a wager against Steph Curry in a “do or die” situation. The Clippers are the better team, but I do think Golden State finds a way to keep the final score close. To boot,  the Warriors have covered a spread of +5.5 in 3 of their last 4 meetings with LA. I’ll take the visitors to cover.

ORL Magic v PHI 76ers: These two squads have alternated wins and losses over their last 5 meetings; and to be frank, I don’t love Joel Embiid’s absence for this game. Both teams have been unreliable at the best of times this season, but I think Paolo Banchero is going to have a really good game here. Having won 5 of their last 6, I won’t be at all surprised if Orlando pulls off the upset in this spot. My money’s on the Magic to cover.
