Why These Picks?
BAL Orioles v COL Rockies: Rockies starter Tanner Gordon (5.38 ERA) is carrying an abysmal 7.89 ERA at home, friends – and to be frank, I’m not really surprised considering Coors Field is “home”. At the time of writing, Baltimore has yet to select a starting pitcher, but I don’t doubt that their offense is perfectly capable of running up a total in this spot. I’ll take the Orioles to put at least 6 on the board.
MIL Brewers v CHI Cubs: I admit, Kyle Harrison (2.79 ERA) isn’t as good on the road as he is at home, but I’m no fan of Chicago starter Clay Holmes (2.26 ERA) lately either. With both offenses being wildly capable, I won’t be surprised if this game turns into a shootout so to speak. It’s also not very often that we get Milwaukee to win outright at plus money. With Holmes dropping 4 of his last 5 games, I’m gonna roll with Milwaukee to bag a win.
SEA Mariners v BOS Red Sox: George Kirby (4.02 ERA) has been abysmal on the road. Kirby has allowed 11 runs over just his last 2 games away from home, I’m not in any rush to back him. Payton Tolle is in far better form, and 4 of his last 5 outings have lead to a Red Sox victory. I’m on Boston to cover the RL this evening.
