Why These Picks?
LA Angels v BAL Orioles: This game should go well beyond 9 runs, friends. Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez (7.98 ERA) has allowed 13 runs and 5 homers over just his last 3 starts, and while Baltimore has yet to name their starting pitcher…I really don’t think it matters. I won’t be surprised if the Orioles cash this play out all by themselves. After a rough couple games against Philly, I’m sure the Baltimore offense will be eager to show out at home. I’m on the Over to cash.
MIN Twins v KC Royals: Not one of Randy Dobnak’s (1.04 ERA) last 5 starts has seen 9 runs, and to be frank, I think he’ll hold his own at home here. I admit, Minnesota’s Joe Ryan (3.52 ERA) has had a rough couple of outings, but Kansas City’s offense has been lukewarm at best over the past week. My money’s on the Under to hit this evening.
DET Tigers v SEA Mariners: I’m not betting against Troy Melton (1.75 ERA) in his current form, and I’m sure as hell not betting against the Tigers offense in their current form. Melton’s last 5 starts have resulted in a win for Detroit, and the Tigers offense has bagged an astounding 55 runs over their last 5 games. I’ll happily take Detroit for plus money.
