Why These Picks?

OKC Thunder v SA Spurs: This is one of my all-time favourite NBA matchups, friends. And, while both teams are known to be solid defensively, I think the star players will take every opportunity they can to really show out in this first game of the season. To boot, the Thunder will undoubtedly be seeking revenge in this spot, and with Jalen Williams healthy and back in the Oklahoma City lineup, I think they’ll rack up a total quick. I’m on the Over to hit tonight. As for a winner, this line has been moving back and forth all afternoon, but I finally like where it’s landed. Somehow the Spurs are the underdog now? I’ll happily take the home squad to cover for a decent return.

CAR Hurricanes v VAN Canucks: I won’t be betting against the Hurricanes while they’ve got Pyotr Kotchetkov (1.78 GAA) goaltending. Kochetkov is 5-0 on the season, and the Canucks have now lost their last 7 straight games. Take Carolina to cover the PL here.
